What Is Daily Code?
Daily Code is a free browser-based color-code deduction game created by MobiGlitch Games. Inspired by classic Mastermind-style puzzles, it challenges you to uncover a hidden sequence of colored pegs using feedback from each guess.
The concept is straightforward: choose a combination of colors, check your answer, and interpret the clues to narrow down the possibilities. Every attempt gives you information about which colors belong in the secret code and whether they are positioned correctly.
Rather than offering only one puzzle a day, Daily Code combines a shared daily challenge with a substantial single-player campaign, customizable quick games, practice puzzles, and competitive options. Its relaxing presentation makes it approachable for newcomers, while harder challenges reward systematic logical thinking.
The game is free to play directly on itch.io, works on desktop and mobile browsers, and requires no account.

How Does Daily Code Work?
Your objective is to discover the secret color sequence before exhausting your available guesses.
Each time you submit a combination, the game evaluates it and displays two types of clues:
- White dot: A color is correct and occupies the correct position.
- Gold ring: A color appears in the secret code but is in the wrong position.
These clues tell you how many parts of your attempt are correct without simply revealing the complete solution. You must combine the information from multiple guesses to identify the hidden sequence.
For example, imagine a four-color code with the secret combination:
🔴 🔵 🟢 🟡
You submit:
🔴 🟢 🟣 🟡
This example would produce two white dots because red and yellow are correctly positioned, plus one gold ring because green belongs in the code but occupies the wrong position. Purple contributes no matching clue.
Importantly, the feedback itself does not identify which individual peg produced each clue. Working out those relationships is the heart of the puzzle. This four-color example is illustrative; actual puzzle configurations can vary by mode and difficulty.
How to Play Daily Code
- Choose your game mode. Open Daily Code on itch.io and select Daily Challenge for today's shared puzzle, Camp Mode for structured progression, or Quick Game for a different challenge.
- Build your first combination. Select colors and arrange them in the available positions. Your opening guess establishes a starting point for deduction.
- Press Check. Submit your combination and examine the white dots and gold rings. Count how many colors are correctly placed and how many need to move.
- Refine your next guess. Use the clues from previous attempts to test a more promising sequence. Keep track of what each combination has already established.
- Solve the secret code. Continue adjusting your guesses until you discover the entire combination or run out of attempts. Successful solutions contribute to your progression or daily records, depending on the mode.
On a desktop keyboard, number keys 1–8 can be used for color selection, while Enter, Backspace, and Ctrl+Z provide convenient controls. The H key is available for hints where supported. Mouse and touch controls are also supported.

Game Modes and Challenges
Daily Challenge
Daily Challenge presents one secret code each day, shared by all players. You can compare your performance with friends, maintain a winning streak, and follow your progress through the game's calendar.
A weekly free day provides an additional way to protect your streak, making the daily challenge a welcoming option for players who occasionally miss a puzzle.
Camp Mode: 70 Levels
Camp Mode offers 70 levels across seven chapters, with a boss challenge at the end of each chapter. Levels award up to three stars, providing an incentive to improve your solutions.
As you progress, you can unlock additional peg styles and backgrounds. This mode is particularly appealing to players who enjoy a sense of progression beyond a single daily puzzle.
Quick Game
Quick Game lets you play randomly generated codes without waiting for the next daily challenge. It includes preset difficulty options and a fully customizable mode, making it useful for practicing particular types of puzzles.
Additional options include Deduce, a daily mini-puzzle, Time Attack, weekly challenges, shareable codes, and a two-player mode.
Train Your Logic
Train Your Logic offers a more relaxed environment for developing your deduction skills. It includes three hints to help when you become stuck, making it a useful starting point for players unfamiliar with code-breaking puzzles.
Strategy Tips for Solving Color Codes
1. Make informative opening guesses. Try combinations that help establish which colors are present rather than choosing randomly throughout the puzzle.
2. Track white dots separately from gold rings. White clues indicate correct positions, while gold clues indicate correct colors that need to move. Each type of feedback provides different information.
3. Change your guesses deliberately. Adjust a limited part of your combination when possible so that you can understand what caused the feedback to change.
4. Compare multiple attempts. A single row may leave several possibilities open, but combining evidence from two or three guesses can eliminate many candidate codes.
5. Consider color repetitions when the selected rules allow them. Do not automatically assume every position must contain a different color. Check the mode's settings before deciding which combinations are possible.
6. Practise before tackling tougher levels. Quick Game and Train Your Logic give you room to develop a repeatable solving method before attempting more demanding challenges.
Accessibility and Extra Features
Daily Code includes several conveniences beyond its core puzzles. A pattern mode and optional color symbols help players who have difficulty distinguishing colors. The game also offers ambient audio, seasonal themes, achievements, daily goals, statistics, and shareable result images.
Progress can be backed up and restored using a code, and the interface supports multiple languages, including English, German, French, Spanish, Italian, Portuguese, Polish, Romanian, and Norwegian.
The developer describes Daily Code as a free hobby project with no advertising, tracking, or account requirement. For a larger play area, the game's itch.io page recommends using the fullscreen button.
Is Daily Code Worth Playing?
Daily Code is a strong choice for players who enjoy Mastermind, deduction games, and short daily brain teasers. Its immediate appeal comes from the simple color-selection mechanic, but the challenge develops as players learn to interpret overlapping clues and make increasingly precise guesses.
The shared daily puzzle provides a reason to return, while the 70-level campaign, customizable quick games, and alternative challenges offer enough variety for longer sessions.
If you enjoy logic puzzles that reward careful thinking rather than reflexes or trivia knowledge, Daily Code is free to try directly in your browser.
