Nodes

Nodes is a relaxing daily logic puzzle where you connect numbered dots, complete triangles, and gradually reveal a hidden low-poly illustration. It blends deduction with a satisfying visual payoff and has no timer rushing your decisions.

Nodes

What is Nodes?

Nodes begins as a mysterious cloud of numbered dots. Somewhere inside that scattered network is a colorful illustration—but the picture stays hidden until you discover the correct connections holding it together.

Your job is to draw lines between vertices and form triangles. Every correctly completed triangle fills with color, revealing another fragment of the artwork. There is no timer and no frantic scoring battle, but careless connections can turn the board into a tangled geometric trap.

Nodes Game

Nodes Game Rules (The Catch / The Trap)

Each dot displays a number showing how many connections it still needs. Drawing a line between two dots reduces the remaining count on both ends.

  • Connect vertices: Drag between two dots to create a line.
  • Follow the numbers: A dot showing 3 still needs three valid lines connected to it.
  • Build triangles: Correct groups of three connected vertices form colored triangular pieces.
  • Reveal the picture: Each completed triangle exposes part of the hidden low-poly artwork.
  • Fix mistakes: Incorrect lines can be removed or undone without ending the puzzle.
  • Finish every connection: The puzzle is complete when the required network has been built and the full image appears.

The trap is assuming that nearby dots MUST connect. Distance alone proves nothing. A tempting line may satisfy one vertex while stealing the only possible connection needed by another.

How To Play Nodes?

  1. Read the opening board

You see three nearby vertices:

A: 3 B: 2 C: 2

The numbers tell you how many lines each vertex still requires.

  1. Draw the first connection

Player Connects: A ─ B

Board Updates: A: 2 B: 1 C: 2

Both connected vertices now need one fewer line.

  1. Test a triangle

Player Connects: A ─ C and B ─ C

Result: The enclosed triangle fills with color.

What This Means: Those three edges belong to the hidden illustration, and the remaining numbers reveal where the network must expand next.

  1. Follow the remaining counts

Look for vertices with only one possible partner left. Complete those forced connections first, then use the newly revealed shapes to untangle harder areas.

  1. Reveal the final artwork

Continue connecting, correcting, and completing triangles until every required count reaches zero and the scattered geometry transforms into a finished picture.

Nodes Strategy & Tips

Start with constrained vertices. A dot requiring one connection with only one plausible neighbor is far safer than a crowded vertex needing four lines.

Watch both ends of every proposed line. A connection may look perfect for one dot but create an impossible count at the other. When stuck, inspect the edges of already colored triangles—the next correct triangle often shares one of those completed sides.
