## What is Odle?

Odle is a daily writing game built around a simple constraint: compose an ode using only letters that appear in the day's topic phrase. Everyone begins with the same phrase, but each player can create a completely different poem. The challenge is finding something expressive, funny, or surprising within a restricted alphabet.

There is no hidden answer to uncover. You can write a short line, a longer poem, or several versions of an idea, and take as much time as you like.

## Which letters can you use?

The on-screen keyboard identifies the available letters. A letter can be used repeatedly even if it appears only once in the topic, so this is not a one-use letter bag. What matters is whether that letter belongs to the permitted set at all.

For example, an illustrative topic of STONE would allow words such as notes, tones, and see. See uses E twice, which is fine. Stone alone would not authorize a word containing A or R.

## How to write your first ode

1. Open the daily puzzle and read the topic phrase at the top of the editor.
2. Look over the available keyboard letters and think of a few useful words.
3. Build a short line using only those letters, then add punctuation or line breaks to give it a rhythm.
4. Revise the wording or write another version; there is no wrong-answer penalty.
5. Use the sharing options when you are happy with the poem.

## Ideas for getting unstuck

Begin with a mood, image, or joke instead of trying to force a full sentence immediately. Short connecting words can make a small vocabulary surprisingly flexible. Repetition also works well in poetry, so a repeated word can become a deliberate refrain.

Odle suits players who enjoy language experiments and a relaxed daily ritual. The shared prompt makes comparing poems interesting even though there is no single winning solution.
