What is Pokennection?
Pokennection is a daily Pokémon grouping puzzle inspired by Connections. In Classic, a board of sixteen Pokémon contains four hidden groups of four. Your job is to find the intended connections, using Pokémon knowledge and deduction.
The challenge is deciding which trait matters. A group might share a type, generation, color, evolutionary connection or another characteristic. Several attractive explanations can compete for the same tiles.
Classic rules: four groups and four lives
Select four Pokémon and press Send. A correct submission reveals the group and its category. A wrong submission costs one life; four mistakes end the Classic puzzle.
Consider this reasoning example, rather than a solution to today's board:

How to play Pokennection
- Open the daily board and choose Classic. Normal is a sensible starting difficulty.
- Choose the image view or name view, then inspect all sixteen tiles.
- Select four Pokémon that you can connect with one specific explanation.
- Press Send and use the revealed category or lost life to reassess the remaining board.
- Find all four groups before losing your four lives. Past puzzles are available through the menu.
Choose a mode that matches your knowledge
Images help with visual traits; names emphasize recognition and factual knowledge. The game also offers Hard and Hard+ difficulty settings.
Beyond Classic, there are No overlap puzzles, larger 5×5 boards and Group Hunter, where you search for multiple connections among the same tiles. These variants have their own rules, so check the official mode guide before applying Classic's life limit to them.
Daily play does not require an account. Unlimited runs do, as do account-based statistics, streaks, rankings and the Pokédex. Adventure and community-made puzzles provide other ways to play.
A useful solving habit
Say the proposed category to yourself before pressing Send. If the explanation only fits three members comfortably, keep looking. Saving one ambiguous Pokémon until another group becomes clear can be more useful than spending a life on a weak guess.
