What is Stewardle?
You don’t get a grid of letters. You get a mystery F1 driver from the 2014 season onward — and only six chances to name them. Every guess feeds back colored tiles across six key stats: nationality, current/former team, car number, age, debut year, and race wins.
It’s a high-stakes battle of F1 knowledge where a single correct category can point you toward the right driver, but one wrong number or mismatched team sends you scrambling. The trap? You might nail the nationality and debut year but completely miss the obscure teammate from a backmarker squad.

Stewardle Game Rules (The Catch / The Trap)
- 🏎️ One Mystery Driver per day from the hybrid era (2014+).
- 📊 Six Stat Categories receive feedback after every guess:
- Nationality (flag)
- Team
- Car Number
- Age
- First Year (debut)
- Race Wins
- 🎨 Tile Colors show how close you are:
- Green: Exact match
- Yellow: Close or partial match (e.g. same region or similar number range)
- Gray: No match
- 🔢 Number Clues for car number and age/debut/wins often show “too high” or “too low.”
- 🔒 Six Tries Only — run out and the Driver of the Day stays hidden until tomorrow.
The catch? Knowing big names like Verstappen or Hamilton won’t always save you when the answer is a mid-grid veteran or a one-season wonder.

Player Guesses: Lando Norris
Result: Nationality: ✅, Team: 🟡, Car Number: ✅, Age: ✅, Debut Year: ✅, Race Wins: ❌
What This Means: You’ve locked in the young British driver profile and correct car number — now hunt the right team history.
Step 4: Lock it in
Player Guesses: Alex Albon
Result: All categories ✅ — Correct!

Strategy & Tips
- 🧠 Start broad: Use well-known drivers with distinctive stats (high wins, early debut) to eliminate big chunks quickly.
- 🌍 Nationality first: It’s often the fastest way to cut the list in half.
- 🔢 Respect the numbers: Pay close attention to “too high/too low” on car number, age, and debut year — they guide you precisely.
- 🏎️ Think teammates & eras: Drivers who raced together or in the same period frequently share yellow clues.
- 📈 Track wins carefully: Zero-win drivers are common in the hybrid era; don’t assume every guess needs podiums.
