What is chardle?
CharDle turns the classic Wordle formula into a pop-culture showdown: instead of guessing random five-letter words, you're hunting down the name of a specific character from beloved franchises. Every day (and in countless community games), a new mystery character appears — could be a Marvel hero, an anime protagonist, a TV anti-hero, or a video game legend.
The twist that hooks players? Your guesses feed back exact letter positions and presence, just like Wordle, but the pressure is personal. One wrong vowel and you've eliminated half your favorite cast. It's strategic, nostalgic, and brutally satisfying when those tiles finally lock in green.

chardle Game Rules (The Catch / The Trap)
- You have a limited number of guesses (usually 6) to identify the secret character.
- Each guess must be a valid character name from the selected game's franchise or pool.
- After every guess, each letter gets color-coded feedback:
- 🟩 Green: Letter is in the correct position.
- 🟨 Yellow: Letter is in the name but in the wrong spot.
- ⬛ Gray: Letter is not in the character's name at all.
- Names can be multiple words; the grid adapts accordingly.
- You CANNOT repeat invalid names or non-characters — the game locks them out.
- Multiplayer modes add real-time racing or shared-clue twists.
How To Play chardle?
Step 1: Pick Your Battle
Choose a daily featured game or dive into community themes (Marvel, Harry Potter, Anime, etc.). The secret character loads and your guess grid appears empty.
Step 2: First Strike
Type a character name you suspect might fit (e.g., "HOMELANDER"). Hit enter.
Game Response: Tiles light up — maybe H and L turn yellow, others gray.
What You Learn: The name contains H and L somewhere, but not in those positions.
Step 3: Narrow the Field
Use the revealed letters to test smarter guesses (e.g., "BUTCHER"). Watch the grid update in real time.
Game Response: More greens and yellows appear.
What You Learn: You're closing in on exact spelling and positioning.
Step 4: The Lock-In
Refine with remaining possibilities until the entire name glows green.
Victory: Celebrate your streak and share your score. Fail? The answer reveals tomorrow's path.
Strategy & Tips
- Start broad with popular characters to eliminate common letters quickly.
- Pay attention to name length and word count early — it drastically shrinks the pool.
- Track eliminated letters across guesses like a detective.
- For tough franchises, lean on your knowledge of side characters and villains; they're often the daily picks.
- Try community games for hyper-specific fandoms — the smaller the pool, the sharper the challenge.
