What Is Chrono NBA?
Chrono NBA is a basketball-history version of the Chrono timeline game. Instead of answering traditional trivia questions, you are given a group of NBA events and must arrange them from the earliest event to the most recent.
The cards can cover league milestones, championships, famous players, rule changes, mergers, awards, and other major moments from NBA history. The official game gives you three tries to place the events in the correct chronological order. ([Chrono][1])
How Chrono NBA Works
A round shows several NBA history events as movable cards. Your job is to decide which happened first, second, third, and so on, then submit the complete timeline with Check Answers.
You do not need to know the exact date of every event. Recognizing the general era is often enough. For example, an event involving the formation of the NBA clearly belongs before an event involving Stephen Curry.
After checking an arrangement, the game can indicate which events are already in the correct positions, allowing you to revise the remaining cards before your attempts run out. ([Chrono][2])
How to Play Chrono NBA
- Read every event first. Look for recognizable players, teams, league names, or milestones that reveal an approximate era.
- Find the oldest and newest anchors. These are usually easier to identify than the events in the middle.
- Arrange all five cards from earliest to latest. Do not focus only on neighboring cards; think about the entire NBA timeline.
- Select Check Answers. Use the placement feedback to see which parts of the timeline need reconsideration.
- Adjust the uncertain events and submit again. You have up to three attempts to complete the correct order. ([Chrono][1])

Those milestones span almost seven decades, so recognizing broad NBA eras is more useful than memorizing every exact date. Boston's first championship came in 1957, the NBA-ABA merger occurred in 1976, and Curry's unanimous MVP came in 2016. ([NBA.com][3])
Chrono NBA Strategy Tips
Start with league-history events. The BAA/NBL merger, ABA merger, expansion eras, and major rule changes provide strong chronological anchors.
Use player generations as timestamps. Bill Russell and the early Celtics point toward the 1950s and 1960s, while Michael Jordan, Kobe Bryant, LeBron James, and Stephen Curry each provide useful reference points for later eras.
Separate exact knowledge from relative knowledge. You may not remember that an event happened in 1976, but knowing it occurred after the Celtics' first title and before the modern developmental league may be enough.
Spend attempts on the middle cards. The earliest and latest events are often easier to identify. Most mistakes come from two historically close events in the center of the timeline.
