What is footdle?

Footdle throws you into the ultimate football detective mission: a secret player is hiding and the only way to expose them is by throwing real players at the grid. Every guess lights up columns with cold, hard truth — green means you nailed it, red means you missed completely. It’s Wordle meets FIFA scouting report, but way more addictive.

footdle Game Rules (The Catch / The Trap)

The Catch is brutal and beautiful: you guess real footballers and the game compares them column by column against the hidden target.

You get 12 guesses. Each guess populates a row with these columns:

• Player Name (you type it)
• Position — 🟢 exact role or 🔴 completely wrong
• Club — 🟢 same team or 🔴 different squad
• League — 🟢 same league or 🔴 wrong competition
• Nationality — 🟢 same country or 🔴 different passport

Green = LOCKED IN, perfect match. Red = ELIMINATED from consideration. No half-measures. You CANNOT repeat the same player. The fewer guesses you need, the higher your score and the louder the bragging rights.

Classic mode is the pure version. Other modes twist the knife with icons, face merges, through-the-years cards, and more.

How To Play footdle?

Step 1: Study the Empty Grid
A blank 12-row comparison table stares back. No clues yet — just the knowledge that today’s mystery player exists in the massive database of top-league stars.

Step 2: Drop Your First Guess
Type a big-name player you suspect (example: “Erling Haaland”).
Game Response: The entire row lights up instantly.

Step 3: Read the Verdict
Position: 🟢 ST (exact)
Club: 🔴 Man City (wrong)
League: 🟢 Premier League (match)
Nationality: 🟢 Norway (match)
What This Means: The target is a Norwegian striker in the Premier League — but NOT at Man City.

Step 4: Narrow & Strike Again
Armed with intel, guess the next logical candidate (example: “Alexander Isak”). More columns turn green.
Result: The grid starts painting a crystal-clear profile of the mystery player.

Step 5: Seal the Victory
Nail the exact player and every column glows green. Your guess count hits the high-score board. Switch to Footmoji, Through the Years, or Flags and hunt again — each mode feels like a brand-new scouting mission.

Strategy & Tips

• Start broad with superstar strikers or defenders from the big five leagues — they reveal the most information fast.
• Use league and nationality greens to mentally filter the entire player pool in your head.
• When position and league match but club is red, list every possible teammate or rival quickly.
