What is geosports?

GeoSports asks a dangerous little question: knowing the sports answer is not enough—but can you place it on the planet? Each daily round serves five sports trivia prompts, and instead of typing an answer, you rotate the globe and tap where you believe it happened.

A familiar stadium may save you. A vaguely remembered host city may betray you. Every mile between your pin and the real location costs points, while the final questions carry heavier scoring multipliers. The result is a fast battle between sports memory, map knowledge, and the courage to commit to one tiny point on Earth.

geosports Game Rules (The Catch / The Trap)

Five-question round: Everyone receives the same five daily sports questions, with a new round released at midnight Eastern Time.

Tap the location: Rotate and zoom the globe, then tap the place connected to the question. You are choosing a geographic point—not selecting from multiple-choice answers.

One tap locks the guess: There is no separate submit button. Once the tap is registered, that location is LOCKED IN and the result is revealed.

Distance controls the score: Each question begins with a score of up to 100 points. The farther your marker lands from the correct location, the more points disappear.

The result tier shows how accurate the attempt was:

• 100: Perfect
• 90–99: Great
• 50–89: Ballpark
• 1–49: Miles off
• 0: Antipodal disaster

Late-round pressure: Questions 1 and 2 use the normal value, question 3 is worth double, and questions 4 and 5 are worth triple. A flawless round totals 1,000 points, so a final-question miss can wreck an otherwise heroic run.

How To Play geosports?

1. Read the sports clue

   Question: “Which city hosted the 2016 Summer Olympics?”

   You remember the answer is Rio de Janeiro—but now you must locate it.

2. Search the globe visually

   Drag toward South America, rotate Brazil into view, and zoom toward its southeastern coastline.

   What You Learn: Sports knowledge identifies the city; geography determines whether the guess survives.

3. Commit your marker

   Player Taps: A coastal point near southeastern Brazil 📍

   The tap immediately becomes the submitted guess. There is no confirmation screen.

4. Study the reveal

   Target: Rio de Janeiro 🎯

   Result: The game displays the distance between both locations, awards a score, and marks the attempt as Perfect, Great, Ballpark, Miles Off, or zero.

5. Protect the bigger multipliers

   Use the early questions to settle into the map controls. When questions 3–5 arrive, slow down and zoom carefully—the same geographic mistake can now cost twice or three times as much.

geosports Strategy & Tips

• Identify the country before the city. First eliminate entire continents, then narrow the search through coastlines, borders, lakes, or recognizable regions.
• Translate team knowledge into map knowledge. Knowing a franchise, tournament, stadium, or athlete may reveal the metropolitan area even when the city is not stated directly.
• Zoom before tapping. A rough regional guess may earn something, but careful city-level placement is what separates leaderboard contenders from the crowd.
• Respect questions 3–5. Their multipliers make patience more valuable near the end of the round.
• Avoid accidental taps. When adjusting the globe, drag before releasing so the movement is treated as a swipe rather than a guess.
