Stardle

Stardle is a daily astronomy-themed word game where you have six attempts to uncover a five-letter space-related answer. Use AstroBlue, yellow, and gray tile feedback to navigate the vocabulary of planets, objects, missions, and the wider cosmos.

Stardle

What is Stardle?

Stardle launches the familiar daily word puzzle into deep space. You have six attempts to uncover a hidden five-letter word connected to astronomy, with every guess producing colored tiles that guide your next move.

The answer might refer to a celestial object, scientific term, space mission, or another piece of cosmic vocabulary. Your guesses do not need to be astronomy words, so you can begin with ordinary five-letter words, collect letter evidence, and only then aim your telescope toward the final answer.

Stardle Game Rules (The Catch / The Trap)

The daily mission follows a familiar flight path:

ENTER 5-LETTER WORD → READ TILE COLORS → REPOSITION LETTERS → TRY AGAIN

  • One astronomy word per day: The hidden answer is always related to astronomy in some way.
  • Exactly five letters: Every submitted guess MUST contain five letters.
  • Valid words only: Random letter combinations CANNOT be submitted.
  • Six attempts: Solve the Stardle before all six rows are used.
  • AstroBlue tile: The letter is correct and in the correct position.
  • Yellow tile: The letter appears in the answer but belongs somewhere else.
  • Gray tile: The letter does not appear in the answer.
  • Ordinary guesses are allowed: Your guesses do not need to have a space or astronomy theme.
  • Daily reset: A new Stardle becomes available each day.
  • Cosmic reward: After playing, the game may reveal a fun astronomy fact connected with the answer.

The trap is that knowing astronomy does not replace word deduction. You may suspect the answer is a celestial object, but you still need to obey every positional clue.

How To Play Stardle

How To Play Stardle?

Imagine the hidden word is COMET.

Step 1: Launch a broad opening guess

Player Guesses:

C R A N E

Feedback:

🟦 ⬜ ⬜ ⬜ 🟨

What This Means: C is LOCKED IN at the beginning. E belongs in the answer but not in the fifth position. The letters R, A, and N can be abandoned.

Step 2: Test the surviving letters

Player Guesses:

C L O T H

Feedback:

🟦 ⬜ 🟨 🟨 ⬜

What This Means: O and T are both present but misplaced. L and H are eliminated, while the first-position C remains secure.

Step 3: Assemble the cosmic pattern

You now know:

C _ _ _ _

Contains: O, T, E

Forbidden: R, A, N, L, H

A familiar astronomy word begins to emerge.

Step 4: Submit the final answer

Player Guesses:

C O M E T

Result:

🟦 🟦 🟦 🟦 🟦

The word is correct, the daily Stardle is solved, and the game can reveal a related astronomy fact.

Stardle Strategy & Tips

Open with a five-letter word containing several common vowels and consonants. Because guesses do not need to be astronomy-related, words such as CRANE, STARE, or AUDIO can expose useful letters quickly.

Keep every AstroBlue letter fixed unless later evidence proves otherwise. Move yellow letters into fresh positions rather than repeating the same failed arrangement.

Use the astronomy theme after gathering enough letters. Possible answer territory includes planets, stars, moons, spacecraft, astronomical objects, and scientific vocabulary, but guessing themed words too early may waste valuable letter coverage.

Watch for repeated letters. A gray copy does not always eliminate that letter completely when another copy has already been marked AstroBlue or yellow.

Finally, treat the six rows like limited fuel. Early guesses should gather information; later guesses should use the cosmic theme to turn that evidence into one precise answer.
