What is Calendar Puzzle?
Calendar Puzzle turns a date into a spatial packing challenge. Its board contains the 31 day numbers and 12 month labels. You arrange eight pieces so that only the selected month and day remain visible, covering the other 41 cells.
There is no word to guess or trivia answer to recall. The satisfying part is fitting awkward shapes around two fixed gaps and discovering how one placement changes the options for every remaining piece.
Leave exactly two cells open
The selected date is the constraint. Pieces must stay on the board, avoid overlapping, and leave the two target cells uncovered. All other spaces need to be filled.
The interface offers Casual, Expert, and Random piece sets, together with tools for inspecting or adjusting a difficult position. A different date or set can require a very different arrangement, so a memorized layout is not a universal solution.
How to play
- Open Play, confirm the selected date, and choose a piece-set difficulty.
- Identify the month and day cells that must remain visible.
- Move pieces onto the board, trying orientations that fit around the targets and irregular edges.
- Check the uncovered spaces after each placement. Reposition earlier pieces when the remaining shapes cannot fit.
- Finish with all eight pieces placed and exactly the two date cells uncovered.
A calendar example
For July 4, the finished board must leave JUL and 4 visible. Leaving JUL and 14, or exposing a third cell, does not satisfy that date even if most pieces fit neatly.
Before filling a large open area, inspect the narrow spaces beside the date cells. An isolated pocket is a useful warning that an earlier placement needs to change. Try to keep remaining gaps compatible with the shapes still outside the board; fitting one piece beautifully is less useful if it strands the last two.
