Chroma

Chroma is a daily color-mixing puzzle where you combine three palette shades and adjust their proportions to match a target. You have six tries, and real color-distance feedback shows whether each mix is moving closer.

Chroma gameplay

What is Chroma?

Chroma is a recipe puzzle disguised as a color swatch. The game gives you a target shade, a palette, and six attempts to build a mixture that lands close enough to the target.

There is no single secret recipe. Different combinations can produce a winning shade, so every attempt is an experiment: choose three colors, balance their percentages, and learn from the similarity score.

Chroma Game Rules

  • Choose three shades from the available palette.
  • Adjust their proportions so the full mix adds up to 100 percent.
  • Submit up to six mixtures for the daily target.
  • Each result reports how close the mixed shade is to the target.
  • A match of at least 95 percent counts as a solve; order does not matter.

The hard part is separating hue from proportion. A promising set of ingredients can still fail if one color dominates the blend.

How To Play Chroma?

  1. Inspect the target: decide which two color families appear strongest and what undertone may be hiding underneath.
  2. Build a baseline: choose three plausible palette colors and start with a balanced mix.
  3. Read the percentage: a low score calls for new ingredients; a high score usually calls for smaller proportion changes.
  4. Refine, do not restart: move five or ten percentage points at a time when the mixture is already close.
  5. Cross the line: reach 95 percent or better before the sixth attempt.

Chroma Strategy & Tips

Use the first guess to test a broad theory, then change one variable at a time. If you replace a shade and alter every percentage simultaneously, the feedback cannot tell you which change helped. Near the finish, make small adjustments and watch the mixed preview rather than chasing a perfect-looking numerical recipe.
