CloseWord

CloseWord
CloseWord is a semantic word-guessing game where every guess is ranked by how close it is in meaning to the secret word. Instead of chasing letters, you chase ideas — colder, warmer, closer, until rank 1 finally hits.

What is closeword?
CloseWord is not a normal Wordle clone where green letters save you and gray letters betray you. Here, the secret word is hidden by meaning, not spelling, and every guess tells you how conceptually close you are to the answer.
That makes the puzzle feel like a mental treasure hunt. Guess wave, get a low rank, and you may be circling the right idea. Guess pencil, get a huge rank, and the game is basically telling you: wrong universe, turn back now.

closeword Game Rules (The Catch / The Trap)
The goal is to find the secret word by guessing related words.
CloseWord does not give letter-position feedback. Instead, each guess receives a rank based on semantic closeness:
- Rank 1 means you found the exact secret word.
- Lower rank = closer to the answer.
- Higher rank = farther away from the answer.
- You have unlimited guesses, so the battle is about direction, not survival.
- You can use hints, but hints are limited, so spend them carefully.
Visual clue style:
wave → 3
Very close. You are almost touching the answer.
summer → 380
Warm-ish. Related, but not direct enough.
pencil → 8204
Cold. This path is probably eliminated.
The trap is that CloseWord rewards meaning, not spelling. A word can share letters with the answer and still be useless. Another word can look totally different but sit right next to the answer in meaning.

closeword Strategy & Tips
Start wide. Try words from very different categories such as emotions, objects, places, animals, food, weather, and actions. Your first goal is not to win instantly — it is to find the right neighborhood.
When a guess gives a low rank, stay nearby. Try synonyms, opposites, category members, causes, effects, and related nouns or verbs.
If every guess is above rank 1000, abandon that branch. CloseWord is telling you that your idea path is cold, and stubborn guessing will only keep you lost in the fog.
Use hints only when you are stuck between several possible meanings. A hint can save the run, but the real satisfaction comes from watching your ranks drop until the answer is trapped.
