What is Color Memory Game?
A single vibrant color fills your screen. You have three or four seconds to burn it into your brain. Then it vanishes forever. All that’s left? Three innocent sliders and your shaky memory. Color Memory Game is the brutally honest test of whether your eyes actually remember what they see.
Most people think they’re good with color—until the score hits. Using real perceptual color science (CIELAB + CIEDE2000), the game measures how close your guess really is. It’s simple, addictive, and strangely humbling. Perfect for a quick solo brain workout or chaotic multiplayer rounds with friends.

Color Memory Game Rules (The Catch / The Trap)
- The Flash: One color fills the screen for exactly 4 seconds (Easy) or 3 seconds (Hard). In Hard mode, decoy colors flash on the countdown to scramble your memory.
- Memory Lock: The color is GONE the instant the timer ends. You CANNOT see it again. Ever.
- Rebuild Phase: Drag the three sliders (Hue, Saturation, Brightness) to recreate what you saw. Your live guess appears instantly, along with a real-time score.
- Scoring: Each round is scored 0–10 using CIEDE2000 perceptual difference. Hue accuracy matters most. Five rounds = one total out of 50.
- No Retries: Submit and move on. The next color is already waiting.
Classic mode is pure memory. The eight wild variants (Speed, Memory Stack, Blind Sliders, etc.) add extra traps. Multiplayer rooms force everyone to play the exact same rounds at the same time.
How To Play Color Memory Game?
Step 1: The Reveal
Click Play Solo (or pick a mode). A Ready–Set–Go countdown hits. Then BOOM — the full-screen target color appears. Stare. Memorize every detail. Timer starts ticking.
Step 2: Memory Test
The color disappears. Three sliders appear: Hue, Saturation, Brightness. Your preview color starts as a neutral gray.
Step 3: Dial It In
Player Action: Drag sliders → Game Response: Your color updates live. A score (e.g. 6.06/10) updates in real time. Target H 162 S 63 B 73 vs your current guess.
Step 4: Submit & Compare
Hit Submit. See the exact difference, your round score, and the side-by-side comparison. Learn what tricked you.
Step 5: Five Rounds & Final Score
Repeat for five colors. Get your total out of 50. In multiplayer, everyone sees the live leaderboard at the end.
Strategy & Tips
- Hue first, always: Most points live in getting the right color family. Fine-tune saturation and brightness only after hue feels locked.
- Train your eye: Play Easy mode daily. You’ll start noticing subtle shifts you never saw before.
- Hard mode trick: Ignore the decoy flashes on the countdown — they’re designed to mess with you.
- Multiplayer edge: Create a room, invite friends, and watch the leaderboard roast everyone’s memory in real time. Rematch is instant.
- Variant warm-up: Try Blind Sliders or Memory Stack to level up before tackling the toughest modes.
