What Is Concepto?
Concepto is a daily semantic word-guessing game where the goal is to discover a hidden word based on meaning rather than matching letters.
You can begin with almost any word. Concepto compares that guess with the secret answer and gives you feedback showing how conceptually close the two words are. Instead of green or yellow letters, you receive a similarity percentage and a temperature ranging from Frozen to Boiling.
The closer your ideas become to the secret concept, the hotter your guesses get. Reaching 100% Perfect means you have found the answer.
The Semantic Bridge Twist
Concepto's most distinctive mechanic is its Semantic Bridge. Alongside the similarity feedback, the game can show an intermediate concept that points from your guess toward the target.
For example, imagine the hidden word were APPLE and you started with:
PIZZA → FOOD
Your guess is related to food, but still fairly distant from the answer. You might then try:
BANANA → FRUIT
Now the result is warmer because fruit is a much more useful conceptual direction. From there, guesses such as pear, orange, or apple would make sense.
This bridge system gives Concepto a more directed feel than semantic games where you may need to make large numbers of guesses with little indication of which direction to explore.
How to Play Concepto
- Enter any starting word. You do not need to match the secret word's length, spelling, or first letter, so choose a broad concept you think might reveal useful information.
- Read the similarity feedback. Check the percentage and temperature attached to your guess. Frozen or Cold results suggest you are far away, while Warm, Hot, and Boiling guesses indicate increasingly strong semantic relationships.
- Follow the bridge concept. Use the Semantic Bridge as a directional clue. If it points toward concepts such as
fruit,vehicle,music, oranimal, begin exploring words within or around that area. - Narrow your guesses. Once a word scores highly, try synonyms, related objects, members of the same category, and concepts commonly associated with it until you reach the secret word.
- Find the Perfect answer. A 100% score completes the daily puzzle. Try to solve it with as few guesses as possible.
Understanding the Temperature System
Concepto turns semantic similarity into an intuitive heat scale.

Do not keep guessing tiny variations of a word that scores poorly. A Frozen or very Cold result is useful information because it tells you that an entire line of thinking may be wrong.
Explore around hot words
Once you reach a strong result, slow down and examine its semantic neighborhood. Try related categories, examples, functions, locations, synonyms, opposites, and things frequently associated with the word.
