What Is Costcodle?
Costcodle is a free daily price-guessing game that tests your shopping instincts with real Costco products. This Costco-themed twist on the Wordle format replaces letters with dollar amounts: inspect a product, estimate its price and use the feedback printed on a digital receipt to adjust.
It makes a compact coffee-break challenge with no sign-up required. Track your winning streaks and share spoiler-free results to compare your price sense with friends. This version is an independent fan project, separate from the original Costcodle site and unaffiliated with Costco.
Costcodle Rules and Core Twist
- You have six guesses to estimate the price of the whole package in US dollars.
- Higher means your estimate is too low; Lower means it is too high.
- Close marks an unsuccessful guess within 25% of the target.
- A guess within 5% wins—you do not need the exact cents. Using all six attempts without reaching that range ends the round and reveals the answer.
The daily puzzle changes at 00:00 UTC. Unlimited mode serves random past items under the same guessing rules without affecting your daily streak.
Prices are historical game snapshots, not live Costco listings. Package size matters, and the target may differ from what your local warehouse currently charges.
How to Play Costcodle
- Inspect the product card. Use the photo, name and quantity or weight to estimate the cost of the entire package, rather than a single serving or individual item.
- Enter a dollar amount and press Submit. Your guess appears on the receipt with feedback telling you whether to raise or lower it.
- Narrow the range. Once one guess is too low and another too high, try an amount between them. A Close result suggests making a smaller adjustment in the indicated direction.
- Review and share your result. Reaching the winning range finishes the round; otherwise, keep adjusting until your attempts run out. Share the spoiler-free result with friends, or select Next item in Unlimited mode for another product.
