Devowel

Devowel
Devowel is a daily cryptographic word game where familiar phrases lose their vowels and get crushed into consonant clues. Your score drains while you rebuild the phrase before the clock cracks you.

What is Devowel?
Devowel is a daily word puzzle where the phrase has been attacked. The vowels are gone, the spaces are squeezed, and all you have left is a sharp little skeleton of consonants staring back at you.
The twist is pressure. This is not a slow crossword clue where you can sip coffee forever. Points drain while you think, so every second turns the puzzle into a race: recognize the phrase, rebuild the vowels, restore the spaces, and escape before your score bleeds out.

Devowel Game Rules (The Catch / The Trap)
The trap in Devowel is that the clue looks readable for half a second — then your brain realizes it has been robbed of vowels.
- The phrase is devowelled: A known phrase appears with its vowels removed.
- Spaces may be missing or compressed: The phrase can look like one chunk of consonants instead of neat words.
- You must decode the full phrase: The goal is to type the original phrase with the missing vowels restored.
- Points drain over time: The longer you hesitate, the lower your score drops.
- Keyboard input matters: Use letters and spaces to rebuild the answer cleanly.
- Daily puzzle format: Each day gives you a fresh phrase to crack.

Devowel Strategy & Tips
Say the clue out loud in your head. Consonant strings often become obvious once you hear their rhythm instead of staring at them as letters.
Look for tiny anchor words first. Patterns like TH, ND, FR, NT, and Y often point toward common phrase pieces such as the, and, for, not, or you.
Do not overthink the first clean phrase that fits. Devowel rewards recognition speed, so when the consonants suddenly sound like a familiar saying, type it before the point drain punishes your hesitation.
Use spaces as part of the solve. The phrase is not just missing vowels; it may also be hiding word breaks. Splitting the clue into likely chunks can reveal the answer faster.
