What is Elementle?

At first, it feels like a simple science quiz—guess the element. But after your first wrong answer, the real game begins. Elementle turns the periodic table into a logic battlefield where every guess reveals clues about atomic structure, position, and properties.

This isn’t about memorizing all 118 elements. It’s about triangulating the unknown using hints like atomic number, group, and period. Each guess sharpens the picture—until suddenly, the invisible element becomes obvious… or painfully close.

Elementle Game Rules (The Catch / The Trap)

You are trying to identify a single hidden chemical element.

  • Each guess must be a valid element name or symbol.

  • After every guess, you receive structured feedback:

    • 🔢 Atomic Number → ⬆️ Higher or ⬇️ Lower than your guess
    • 🧪 Group → correct or incorrect
    • 📊 Period → correct or incorrect
    • ⚛️ Sometimes additional hints (category, block, etc.)

Typical feedback example:

  • Atomic Number ⬆️ → The real element has a higher number
  • Group ❌ → Wrong column on the periodic table
  • Period ✅ → Correct row

Key constraints:

  • You MUST use multiple attributes together—one clue alone is not enough.
  • Elements can feel deceptively close (e.g., neighbors in the table).
  • You have a limited number of guesses to find the answer.

WIN CONDITION: Identify the exact element before you run out of attempts.

How To Play Elementle?

Step 1: Start with a Benchmark
Player Guess: Carbon
Result: Atomic Number ⬆️ | Group ❌ | Period ✅
What This Means: The target is heavier than carbon, in the same row, but a different group

Step 2: Shift Across the Table
Player Guess: Oxygen
Result: Atomic Number ⬆️ | Group ❌ | Period ✅
What This Means: Still in the same period, but further right or heavier

Step 3: Narrow the Range
Player Guess: Neon
Result: Atomic Number ⬇️ | Group ❌ | Period ✅
What This Means: Now you’ve bracketed the atomic number range

Step 4: Final Deduction
Player Guess: Fluorine
Result: 🎉 Correct
What This Means: You’ve pinpointed the exact element using logic, not memory

Strategy & Tips

  • Start with mid-range elements to gather broad clues quickly.
  • Use atomic number arrows (⬆️⬇️) to bracket the range.
  • Lock in the correct period early—it cuts the search space massively.
  • Think visually: imagine moving across the periodic table.
  • Don’t guess randomly—each guess should test a hypothesis.

Elementle turns chemistry into a puzzle of precision. Every guess brings you closer—but only if you think like a scientist.
