Gradientle

Gradientle is a daily tile puzzle where scrambled colors must be reordered into a seamless two-dimensional gradient. Fixed corners anchor the board while every extra swap pushes the solve farther over par.

What is Gradientle?

Gradientle takes a smooth two-dimensional color transition, scrambles every movable tile, and leaves the four corners in place. Your task is to rebuild the flow so no row or column contains a visual jump.

Everyone receives the same fresh puzzle each day. A clean solve is satisfying on its own, but the move count creates a second challenge: can you finish close to the theoretical minimum?

Gradientle Game Rules

  • Drag one movable tile onto another to swap their positions.
  • The four corner tiles are fixed and define the gradient's boundaries.
  • Every tile must fit the color transition in both directions.
  • Hints can highlight tiles that are already in the correct place.
  • Results compare your moves with par and record time and hints used.

How To Play Gradientle?

  1. Read the corners: identify how hue, brightness, and saturation change from each corner to the next.
  2. Build the borders: edge tiles are constrained by fewer neighbors and create a frame for the center.
  3. Group nearby shades: move obviously warm, cool, light, and dark tiles into the correct regions.
  4. Repair sharp seams: swap any tile that interrupts an otherwise smooth row or column.
  5. Audit the center: verify every neighbor before making the final move.

Gradientle Strategy & Tips

Avoid solving only left to right. A row can look perfect while its columns remain broken. Work in regions, check all four neighbors after a swap, and reserve hints for late-game ambiguity when several center tiles appear nearly identical.
