How to play Hemiscope Ladder
- Read the category and the requested direction of ranking, such as highest first.
- Compare the photo cards and identify likely extremes.
- Drag each card into a numbered slot, or tap a card and then its destination slot.
- Check the full ordering and fill every slot before pressing Submit. The game allows one submitted ordering.
- Review which positions were exact and which were close.
Scoring and card count
An exactly placed card earns one point, while a card one position from its correct rank earns half a point. The live rules checked for this entry used six cards and six possible points. Follow the count shown in your puzzle rather than assuming the /top10 URL always means ten cards.
Build the ranking from strong comparisons
Start with the cards you can place most confidently near the top and bottom. Then compare neighboring candidates in the remaining group. You do not need to recall every numerical value to know that one candidate is likely above another.
Watch the precise statistic. Career totals and single-season records can produce different orders, just as total population and population density can. A familiar category name is not enough; read the line that says what the cards are being ranked by.
Before submitting, ask which adjacent pair feels weakest and revisit that comparison. Move a card because you have a reason, rather than repeatedly shuffling the uncertain middle. This protects the more confident parts of the ordering.
A changing daily category
The official rules describe new categories rotating over time. Do not treat a sports-themed example as the permanent subject of the game. Ladder is the Hemiscope collection's ranking game, so its full branded title helps distinguish it from unrelated games with the same name.
