What Is Krillion?
Krillion is a daily browser trivia game built around open-ended answers and rarity rather than multiple choice. Every player receives the same seven Daily Dive prompts, covering broad categories such as countries, animals, movies, people, games, food, or general knowledge.
The unusual part is that simply giving an obvious correct answer is not the goal. Krillion rewards answers that are both valid and less obvious. A familiar response may keep you close to the ocean surface, while a more unusual accepted answer can send your dive hundreds of metres deeper.
That makes each prompt a small strategic decision: do you submit the first safe answer you remember, or spend a few seconds searching your memory for something less predictable?
The Rarity Twist
Each Daily Dive contains seven prompts, shown one at a time. You have only a short timed window—roughly 20 seconds—to enter one answer that fits the category.
Accepted answers receive different rarity scores. Common answers sit near the surface, while increasingly uncommon choices earn more points and greater depth. The highest-value answers can be worth 100 points, and seven perfect responses would produce a 700-point, 7,000-metre dive.
A typical prompt might look like:
Name an animal known for camouflage
Typing an immediately obvious answer such as chameleon may be completely correct, but many players are likely to think of it. Remembering a less obvious animal that still clearly fits the prompt gives you a better chance of reaching a deeper rarity tier.
This creates the central Krillion tension: obscure is useful only when it is still correct. An unusual answer that the game does not accept earns you nothing, so chasing the strangest possible response can be worse than choosing a moderately uncommon answer you know is valid.
How to Play Krillion
- Start the Daily Dive. Open Krillion and begin the day's shared seven-prompt challenge.
- Read the entire prompt. Work out exactly what category the game is asking for before committing to an answer.
- Think beyond your first instinct. You have only a short timer, but taking a few seconds to recall two or three possibilities can help you avoid the most obvious choice.
- Submit one valid answer. The game checks your response and converts its rarity score into dive depth. A common pick stays relatively shallow; a rarer accepted response sinks farther.
- Complete all seven prompts. Your individual results combine into a final score and total depth that you can compare with other players tackling the same Daily Dive.
For example, imagine the prompt is “Name a capital city in the Americas.” A famous capital may be the safest response, but Krillion encourages you to search your memory for a valid capital that fewer people are likely to recall immediately. That balance between certainty and obscurity is the game rather than merely knowing one correct fact.
Strategy Tips
Do not automatically submit your first answer. If something comes to mind instantly, there is a good chance it came to mind for many other players too.
Generate a tiny mental shortlist. Try to recall three valid possibilities, then choose the least obvious one you are still confident about.
Stay inside the exact wording. A rare neighboring concept is useless if it does not actually satisfy the prompt. Pay attention to distinctions such as country versus territory, actor versus character, or sport versus competition.
Prefer specific knowledge over random obscurity. The strongest Krillion answers usually come from knowing a category well enough to reach beyond its headline examples, not from guessing strange words.
Know when to stop searching. The timer makes perfection risky. A dependable uncommon answer submitted on time is much better than timing out while trying to remember the ultimate deep-cut response.
Krillion is especially suited to players who enjoy daily trivia but want more choice than a conventional right-or-wrong quiz. Because everyone faces the same prompts, comparing not just scores but the answers people thought of is a large part of the fun.
