What is LinkedIn Mini Sudoku?
LinkedIn Mini Sudoku takes the classic Sudoku idea and shrinks it into a faster, friendlier daily puzzle. Instead of a full 9×9 grid, you solve a compact 6×6 board using the digits 1 through 6.
The twist is speed without softness. The grid is smaller, but the logic still bites: every number must fit its row, column, and shaded region. One careless 4 can poison the whole board, so this tiny puzzle still demands clean thinking.
LinkedIn Mini Sudoku Game Rules (The Catch / The Trap)
Mini Sudoku uses a 6×6 grid.
Your number set is:
1 2 3 4 5 6
Core rules:
- Every row MUST contain the numbers 1–6 exactly once.
- Every column MUST contain the numbers 1–6 exactly once.
- Every shaded region MUST contain the numbers 1–6 exactly once.
- Given numbers are fixed and CANNOT be changed.
- Empty cells must be filled using logic, not random guessing.
- Notes or pencil marks can help track possible numbers.
Visual rule idea:
Row: 1 2 _ 4 5 6
The missing number must be 3 because every row needs each digit once.
The trap is that a number can look perfect in one row but illegal in its column or region. Mini Sudoku is won by checking all three zones before you commit.

Rule Check: row allows it, column allows it, region allows it.
Result: Safe move. -
Use notes for uncertain cells
Cell Possibilities:2 / 6
Next Constraint: Wait until another number removes one option. -
Finish the grid cleanly
Goal: every row, column, and region contains1–6with no repeats.
Victory Feeling: Small grid, sharp solve.
Strategy & Tips
Start with rows, columns, or regions that already have the most numbers filled. The fewer blanks there are, the easier the missing digit becomes.
Use elimination: if a number already appears in a row, column, or region, it cannot go in that cell.
Do not guess too early. Mini Sudoku is short enough that one wrong number can quietly create several false paths.
When stuck, switch zones. If rows stop helping, inspect columns and shaded regions. The breakthrough is often hiding in a different direction.
