What Is Melbees Daily Challenge?

Melbees Daily Challenge is the daily browser puzzle from Melbees: The Secret of Bees. It combines Hangman's hidden-word guessing with numerical deduction on a honeycomb. The developer describes the English browser challenge as free, playable without an account, and refreshed daily, with the same challenge for everyone that day.

The appeal is having two ways to think about a move: work out which letters could complete the secret words, or use the surrounding numbers to deduce which cells are correct.

The Honeycomb Rules: Match, Discard, and Pollen

Each hexagon presents a letter to evaluate. Choose match when you believe it is correct, or discard when you believe it is incorrect. A wrong choice in either direction costs a petal, so discarding a letter deserves just as much care as matching one.

Pollen numbers describe neighboring hexagons. Each number tells you how many of those neighbors contain correct letters. Read the cells around the numbered hexagon when interpreting its clue. These are the core rules published by the developer.

For example:

Pollen clue Meaning
1 One neighboring hexagon contains a correct letter.
2 Two neighboring hexagons contain correct letters.

A 2 tells you how many correct neighbors to find; it does not identify which two. Combining nearby clues is what turns a possible answer into a stronger deduction.

How to Play Melbees Daily Challenge

  1. Open the English Daily Challenge. Visit the browser game and start today's challenge.
  2. Survey the honeycomb. Look at the letters and any revealed Pollen clues before choosing your next cell.
  3. Decide whether to match or discard. Use the neighboring-cell counts alongside your ideas about the hidden words.
  4. Reassess after each move. Read the resulting board information and watch your petals; an incorrect match or discard reduces your room for error.
  5. Keep uncovering the secrets. Apply the same process to the remaining letters as you work through the challenge.

Tips for Protecting Your Petals

  • Look for agreement between clues. A letter is a stronger candidate when both the word possibilities and nearby Pollen counts support it.
  • Treat discards as committed decisions. Removing a letter is not a harmless way to experiment.
  • Revisit uncertain areas. Information gained elsewhere may make a previously unclear choice easier.

Melbees is a good fit if you enjoy word puzzles with a spatial deduction element and like weighing individual moves carefully.
