What is spellie?
Spellie is Wordle’s friendlier little sibling: a daily spelling puzzle built for younger players, families, classrooms, and anyone who wants the word-guessing thrill without being ambushed by obscure vocabulary. Instead of one harsh five-letter duel, Spellie offers three daily difficulty levels so players can choose their battlefield.
The twist is comfort with teeth. Easy mode keeps things approachable with shorter words and extra help, while medium and hard modes push spellers into trickier territory. Every guess becomes a tiny investigation: which letters survived, which positions are locked in, and which sneaky possibilities just got eliminated?

spellie Game Rules (The Catch / The Trap)
Spellie follows the familiar word-guessing rhythm, but with a kid-friendly spellbook wrapped around it:
- You choose a difficulty level: Easy, Medium, or Hard.
- You guess the hidden word within a limited number of tries.
- After each guess, Spellie gives color feedback on the letters.
- A correct letter in the correct spot is your strongest clue.
- A correct letter in the wrong spot means the letter is useful, but not safe yet.
- A letter that does not belong is effectively ELIMINATED from your next plan.
- Easy puzzles are designed for younger spellers and may include more help.
- The game is daily, so each level becomes a small once-a-day spelling mission.
Visual clue style:
B E A R → some letters may be confirmed, some may be misplaced, and some may be ruled out.
The trap? Shorter or simpler words are not always easier. With fewer letters on the board, every clue matters more. One careless guess can waste precious information, while one smart guess can crack the whole word wide open.
How To Play spellie?
Step 1 — Pick Your Puzzle Level
Player Chooses: Easy, Medium, or Hard
Game Response: Spellie loads a daily mystery word for that level.
What This Means: You are not just playing one puzzle — you are choosing how fierce today’s spelling duel should be.
Step 2 — Make a First Guess
Player Guesses: F R O G
Game Response: Spellie colors each letter based on whether it is correct, misplaced, or not in the answer.
What This Means: Your first word is a scout. It reveals which letters are worth keeping and which ones should be thrown out of the castle.
Step 3 — Use the Clues
Next Guess: If R is useful but not in the second spot, try moving it. If O is gone, avoid it.
Game Response: More letters become confirmed or eliminated.
What This Means: The mystery word is shrinking. You are no longer guessing wildly — you are cornering it.
Step 4 — Solve Before the Tries Run Out
Player Guesses: A word that fits every clue.
Result: Win the puzzle, then try another difficulty or come back for tomorrow’s new challenge.
What This Means: Spellie rewards careful spelling, pattern spotting, and brave little leaps of logic.

Strategy & Tips
Start with a word that uses common letters so you can reveal useful clues quickly. Do not panic if the first guess looks rough — even eliminated letters are powerful because they clear space in your mind.
For younger players, say the sounds out loud before typing the next guess. Spellie works best when it feels like a mini spelling adventure, not a test. Move confirmed letters into place, protect your best clues, and let each guess sharpen the final answer.
