What is stars game?
Think Sudoku had a secret love child with Minesweeper… but instead of numbers or bombs, you’re placing glowing ★ stars that absolutely refuse to touch each other. Stars Game is Inkwell Games’ brilliant daily logic puzzle where every row, every column, and every black-bordered region MUST contain exactly two stars — and no two stars can ever be adjacent, not even diagonally. One wrong placement and the entire constellation collapses.
What makes it dangerously addictive is the pure-logic tension: the overlapping rules force you into clever “Aha!” moments where marking a single ❌ suddenly unlocks six more moves. It starts easy on Monday and turns devilishly hard by Sunday, yet never requires guessing — just sharp spatial reasoning. Play once and you’ll be hooked on chasing that perfect, untouchable star pattern every single day.

stars Game Rules (The Catch / The Trap)
The grid is divided into rows, columns, and irregular black-bordered regions. Your mission is simple on paper, brutal in practice:
- Exactly Two Stars Per Zone: EVERY row, EVERY column, and EVERY black-bordered region MUST contain precisely ★ ★. No more, no less.
- The Touch Rule (The Real Trap): Stars CANNOT touch — not horizontally, vertically, or diagonally. They must stay at least one cell apart in every direction, like kings that refuse to share a square in chess.
- Marking System: Click a cell once to place ❌ (forbidden — no star allowed here). Click twice to place ★. Click a third time to clear it.
- No Guessing Allowed: The puzzle is 100% solvable with pure logic. The game provides a “Check” button to instantly verify your progress without spoiling the solve.
- Locked In Until Solved: You’re battling the grid until every zone hits exactly two stars and zero violations. Undo and Reset are your only safety nets.
How To Play stars game?

Step 1: Scan for Forced Moves
Player Action: Look at a small region or row that already has one ★ placed. Mark every surrounding cell (including diagonals) with ❌.
Game Responds: The grid lights up with new forbidden zones.
What You Learn: Those ❌ often force a second star into the only remaining legal spot in that row or region.
Step 2: Fill the Obvious Pairs
Player Action: Drop ★ ★ into any row or column that has only two possible open cells left (after marking Xs).
Game Responds: The black-bordered regions around them suddenly tighten — some now have only one legal cell remaining.
What You Learn: One placement can cascade into a chain reaction across the whole grid.
Step 3: Use the Touch Rule Ruthlessly
Player Action: Place a new ★ and immediately surround it with ❌ in all eight directions.
Game Responds: Distant rows and columns suddenly lose options, revealing the next forced ★.
What You Learn: The “no-touch” rule is your strongest weapon — it creates more information than the two-star rule alone.
Step 4: Check & Celebrate
Player Action: Hit the Check button when you think you’re done.
Game Responds: Green confirmation + timer + “Perfect Game” badge if you nailed it with zero mistakes.
What You Learn: You just solved today’s constellation. Come back tomorrow for a brand-new, harder layout.
Strategy & Tips
- Start with the smallest regions — they give the fastest forced moves.
- Always mark the full “no-touch halo” around every ★ you place.
- When stuck, look for rows/columns with exactly three open cells left — two will be stars, so the middle one is often an ❌.
- Use Undo freely early on; the Check button is your friend, not a crutch.
- Play daily: Monday puzzles are gentle warm-ups, Sunday puzzles are glorious logic battles. The more you play, the more you start seeing the invisible patterns before they appear.
