What is Sudo-goose?
Sudo-goose is Ponder Club's daily sudoku with an easily spotted visual twist: the symbols are 1 through 8 and a goose. Treat the goose as the ninth distinct symbol when reasoning about the board.

Each row, column, and 3×3 box must contain every symbol once. The goose does not get special movement rules or permission to repeat; it follows the same uniqueness constraint as the numbers.
Classic logic with useful controls
Choose an empty cell, then use the number buttons or goose button to enter a value. Notes switches to pencil marks for unresolved candidates, and Check offers a way to inspect your work. The board also provides a timer and Pause control.
Settings include highlighting for peers, matching numbers, and conflicts, plus a colorblind mode and the option to hide the timer. These controls help you read the board, while the row, column, and box constraints determine the solution.
How to play
- Open the daily Sudo-goose grid and identify the given numbers and goose symbols.
- Select a blank cell and compare its row, column, and box to see which symbols are missing.
- Enter a value when only one candidate remains; use Notes when several are still possible.
- Revisit the affected rows, columns, and boxes after each placement, removing candidates that have become impossible.
- Complete the grid with every symbol appearing once in each unit, then review your result.
Remember the ninth symbol
Suppose a row already contains 1 through 8 and has one empty square. That square needs the goose, provided the column and box also permit it. Conversely, a row containing a goose still needs its missing number; the icon does not replace an arbitrary value from cell to cell.
Start with crowded units, where there are fewer candidates to track. If you find a contradiction, check the placements that caused it before adding further guesses. The page offers an archive, and the official daily schedule resets at midnight Pacific time.
