What is Three Clue?
Three Clue is a daily movie guessing game built around word association. Five films appear each day, and you identify each one from as few one-word clues as possible. The clues point toward the film's story, characters, or setting without directly using a word from its title.
Everyone plays the same daily set. You can begin without an account, and scores and streaks are saved in the browser you use.
How clues and points work
A first-clue solve earns three points. Asking for a second clue reduces the value to two, and using the third leaves one point available. Five films therefore offer a maximum of 15 points.
Once you reach the third clue, lifelines can help. The game provides three lifelines across the whole daily set, with at most one used for an individual film. Available help includes multiple-choice titles and title initials. Lifeline use appears on the result card even though it does not deduct additional points.
How to play the five-film quiz
- Read the first clue and consider the film associations it suggests.
- Enter a movie title when you have a plausible match.
- Request another clue if you need more context, keeping the reduced point value in mind.
- Use an available third-clue lifeline if it will help, then move through all five films.
- Review the score out of 15 and share the result without revealing the answers.
Tips for better first-clue guesses
Look for a distinctive scene or supporting character, not only the film's broad genre. One unusual noun can be a stronger signal than a general theme such as romance or adventure. When a second clue appears, search for a title that explains both words together.
Minor spelling mistakes and a missing leading The can be accepted, but entering another film is still a wrong answer. The daily set refreshes at midnight UTC, and clearing browser data resets locally stored progress.
