What is Timdle Music?
Timdle Music is a daily music chronology game. You listen to a song excerpt and place the track on a timeline according to when it was released. One song is already positioned as a reference, and eight more need to be placed around it.
You do not need to identify an exact year in a text field. The immediate decision is where the new song belongs relative to the tracks already on the line.
Understanding the timeline
A placement can go before the earliest song, after the latest song, or into a gap between two known releases. As the timeline grows, those gaps become more informative and more demanding: knowing that a song sounds broadly like the 1990s may be enough at first, but later you might need to distinguish the beginning and end of that decade.
Solve the current song before moving to the next. The interface supports placement controls and dragging the card onto the timeline, with horizontal scrolling to reach the relevant position.
How to complete the daily music timeline
- Note the year of the starting song and play the next song's preview.
- Estimate the new track's era from memory and the sound of the recording.
- Tap a placement position or drag the card into the appropriate gap.
- Use the feedback and confirmed songs to guide the next placement.
- Place all eight additional tracks to finish the challenge; a new timeline appears at local midnight.
Listening tips when the year will not come to mind
Listen for production choices such as drum sounds, vocal processing, synthesizers, and instrumentation. These can suggest an era even when the title is unfamiliar. Compare the current song with your nearest confirmed timeline anchors rather than trying to recall its release date in isolation.
Be careful with songs you discovered long after their original release. A later film appearance or renewed popularity can make an older track feel much newer than it is.
