What is wordhurdle?

Word Hurdle is a Wordle-style guessing game that stretches the battlefield from five letters to a bigger word challenge. In the main version, you are trying to uncover a hidden six-letter word, and every guess becomes a little test of vocabulary, deduction, and nerve.

The extra letter changes more than it seems. Six-letter words give you more room to explore, but also more ways to get trapped by almost-right guesses. A single yellow tile can open three different paths. A gray consonant can collapse half your plan. It is familiar, fast, and just dangerous enough to make “one more puzzle” feel completely reasonable.

wordhurdle Game Rules (The Catch / The Trap)

Your mission is to guess the hidden word before your attempts run out.

Core rules:

• You have 6 attempts to solve the word.
• Each guess MUST be a valid word.
• In the classic Word Hurdle mode, the answer is usually a 6-letter word.
• Some versions also offer shorter daily modes, such as 4-letter or 5-letter puzzles.
• After every guess, the tiles change color to show how close you are.

Color clues:

• 🟩 Green = correct letter in the correct spot.
• 🟨 Yellow = correct letter, but in the wrong spot.
• ⬛ Gray = the letter is not in the word.

Example:

What this means:

• E is LOCKED IN at that position.
• T and M are in the word, but they must move.
• S, R, and A are eliminated unless a special duplicate-letter situation proves otherwise.

The trap is that six-letter words can hide patterns more easily. You may know several correct letters and still be staring at a foggy mess of possible answers.

Step 1: Open with a broad scouting word

• T and M are useful but misplaced.

• The final three letters are still wrong.

Strategy & Tips

• Start with a six-letter word that covers common letters and at least two vowels.
• Do not waste guesses repeating gray letters unless you are testing a very specific theory.
• Green letters are anchors; build around them.
• Yellow letters are relocation orders—move them quickly instead of leaving them stuck.
• Watch out for repeated letters. A word can use the same letter more than once, and that can make obvious-looking answers fail.
• In the final two guesses, stop exploring and start committing to the most likely word shape.
