Baseball Name Chain Game Rules (The Catch / The Trap)

• Start with a given player (Daily) or choose your own opening player.
• MUST enter a valid MLB player whose First Name starts with the Last Name initial of the previous player.
• Example chain: Pete Alonso (ends with A) → Aaron Judge (starts with A) → Julio Rodriguez (starts with J).
• Valid players come from the current 3,120+ active and former All-Star pool.
• You CAN continue as long as valid links exist.
• The game tracks your Path Length (number of successful links).
• Daily modes have fixed starting or target players to create a shared challenge.
• The trap: common letters (A, J, R) give you breathing room, but rare letters can dead-end you fast. One wrong spelling or unknown player and your chain snaps.
