What is Estimate Me?

Estimate Me turns the classic “how many are in the jar?” challenge into a daily battle against your own unreliable eyesight. Each handmade puzzle presents a photograph containing a pile, container, or arrangement of objects, and your job is to estimate the total without losing yourself in the clutter.

The twist is that you have only three guesses. After each attempt, the game tells you whether the real number is higher or lower and may reveal a more useful view of the scene. A wild opening estimate can be recovered—but every remaining guess becomes more dangerous as the possible range tightens.

Estimate Me Game Rules (The Catch / The Trap)

• A new handmade estimation puzzle is available each day, while previous challenges can be found in the archive.
• Study the displayed objects and enter the total quantity you believe is present.
• You have three guesses to get as close as possible to the exact answer.
• After an incorrect estimate, the game tells you whether the answer is MORE or LESS than your number.
• Later attempts can include a clearer or more informative view, giving you another chance to recalculate.
• Your final performance can be ranked against other players who attempted the same puzzle.

Visual feedback works like a tightening trap:

Guess: 80 → MORE ⬆️

Guess: 140 → LESS ⬇️

New possible range: 81–139

The game does not perform the counting for you. You MUST turn the image, scale, visible layers, and higher-or-lower clues into a defensible final number.

How To Play Estimate Me?

Here is a simulated round featuring a crowded container of paper clips:

1. Inspect the first image
   You see several overlapping layers and estimate roughly eight groups of ten.
   Player Guesses: 80
   Result: MORE ⬆️
   What You Learn: The answer is at least 81.

2. Use the clearer view
   More of the container becomes visible, revealing that the pile is deeper than it first appeared.
   Player Guesses: 130
   Result: LESS ⬇️
   Next Constraint: The true total is between 81 and 129.

3. Recalculate instead of panicking
   Count one visible section, estimate how many similar sections fit across the pile, and account for partially hidden objects.
   Final Guess: 112

4. Reveal the damage
   The game shows the actual count and how your estimate compares with other players. A near miss may still earn an excellent rank—even when you never hit the number exactly.

Estimate Me Strategy & Tips

Start by building a range rather than chasing one magical number. Estimate the smallest believable total and the largest believable total, then place your first guess near the middle.

Look for repeatable clusters such as rows, handful-sized groups, container layers, or sections of equal area. Count one cluster carefully and multiply instead of attempting to track every individual object.

Treat every MORE or LESS message as a hard boundary. Your next guess should use both the numerical range and the newly revealed visual information; simply moving up or down by a random amount wastes the strongest clue the game gives you.
