FoxiMax

What is FoxiMax?

FoxiMax is a free browser word game built around a growing hangman board. You choose individual letters, and correct guesses fill every matching position across the words in play. Each miss adds another word to solve. The goal is to uncover everything while keeping that expansion to a minimum.

The appeal is the changing decision: a letter that seems unhelpful for one word might complete several others once the board grows.

How misses change the puzzle

You lose after eight incorrect letter choices. Before that happens, clear every word currently on the board. A smaller final word count is better.

Here is an illustrative sequence, not a daily answer:

Situation What happens
The hidden word is PLANT and you choose A A appears in its matching position.
You choose R while that is the only word The miss adds a second word.
You then choose a letter present in both words Its positions are revealed across both.

Treat each new row as fresh evidence. A previous miss does not prove that a letter is absent from words added later.

Better letter choices and useful settings

Start with plausible common letters, then let the visible patterns guide you. If several rows could use the same letter, compare those opportunities before chasing one unusual spelling. Mentally test a complete candidate word before selecting its next missing letter.

The official guide describes optional assistance, including a starting letter and one undo per game. Check those settings when comparing results with friends. High-contrast colors and letter confirmation are also available.

Daily puzzles normally change at midnight GMT; a setting switches this to local midnight. Training provides additional random games between dailies.
