What is Octordle?

One Wordle is manageable. Two is tricky. Eight? That’s chaos.

Octordle takes the familiar word-guessing formula and multiplies it into a strategic war across eight hidden words at the same time. Every guess you type is broadcast to all boards simultaneously, forcing you to think not just about one solution—but how each guess reveals information across all eight puzzles.

It’s not just harder—it’s smarter. You’re balancing risk, information gain, and efficiency. One careless guess can waste precious turns. One brilliant word can unlock half the board.

Octordle Game Rules (The Catch / The Trap)

You are solving 8 five-letter words at the same time.

  • ✍️ Each guess MUST be a valid 5-letter word
  • 🔁 Every guess applies to all 8 boards simultaneously
  • 🎯 You have 13 total guesses to solve all words

Feedback system (per board):

  • 🟩 Correct letter in the correct position
  • 🟨 Correct letter in the wrong position
  • ⬜ Letter not in that word

Think of one guess like a broadcast signal:

Guess: CRANE

Board 1 → 🟩⬜🟨⬜⬜
Board 2 → ⬜⬜🟩🟨⬜
Board 3 → 🟨🟨⬜⬜🟩
... (and so on for all 8)

The trap?

  • You CANNOT focus on just one board
  • You MUST balance information across all boards
  • Tunnel vision will cost you the game

How To Play Octordle?

Step 1: Open Strong

Player Guesses: SLATE
Result: All 8 boards light up with mixed feedback
What This Means: You now have clues spread across multiple puzzles

Step 2: Spread Information

Player Guesses: ROUND
Result: New letters tested across all boards
What This Means: You’re mapping out common letters and eliminating bad ones

Step 3: Spot Opportunities

One board now shows:

Player Guesses: GRACE
Result: 🟩🟩🟩🟩🟩 → ✅ One board solved!

Step 4: Manage the Chaos

You now shift focus between partially solved boards, using shared letters and patterns to accelerate progress

Step 5: Close the Game

With only a few guesses left, you clean up remaining boards using precise guesses

Victory = all 8 solved before turn 13
