Temple

Temple
Temple is a timing-estimation game that tests whether your internal clock can judge seconds and musical tempo without help. Reproduce a displayed target or decode a flashing rhythm, then discover how close your instincts came.

What is Temple?
Temple is a deceptively simple battle against your own sense of time. Instead of solving a word or recognizing an image, you must judge durations and musical tempos without a stopwatch or BPM counter saving you.
The twist is that Temple can make you either produce a shown value or decode a flashing clue. A three-second hold sounds easy until the button is under your finger; 120 BPM feels obvious until you must tap it consistently seven times.
Temple Game Rules (The Catch / The Trap)
Temple combines one mode, one direction, and one game type.
Choose the measurement
- Hold: Estimate a duration between 0.1 and 5 seconds.
- Beat: Estimate a tempo between 30 and 300 BPM.
Choose the direction
| Direction | What Temple shows | What you must do |
|---|---|---|
| Give | A numerical target | Reproduce it by holding or tapping |
| Take | A timed flash | Enter the duration or BPM you think it represents |
This creates four challenges:
- Hold + Give:
Target: 2.4 secondsβ hold the button for about 2.4 seconds. - Hold + Take:
π‘ββββπ‘β estimate how long the flash lasted and type the duration. - Beat + Give:
Target: 140 BPMβ tap steadily at that tempo. - Beat + Take:
β β β ββ watch the pulse and enter its estimated BPM.
In Beat + Give, Temple calculates your tempo from your latest seven taps. You MUST tap at least seven times, and inconsistent tapping may prevent the guess from becoming submittable. Only the moment each tap begins matters; holding the button longer does not change the BPM.
Choose Daily for a puzzle that changes at midnight in your local time, or Infinite to keep playing new rounds.
After submission, Temple compares your guess with the target. A perfect result earns 10,000 points. Guessing half or double the correct value earns 5,000, so being proportionally close matters more than missing by a fixed amount.

Temple rewards calm observation. Count evenly, avoid changing your rhythm halfway through, and do not let the pressure of the submit button distort your sense of time.
