What is Timedle?

Timedle is not one puzzle waiting to be defeated. It is an entire history-game arena where you can guess important years, identify famous people, interpret historical images, or drag major events into chronological order.

The challenge is constantly changing. One game may demand an exact date, while the next asks you to recognize a person from attributes or decide which of six events happened first. Knowing history helps, but switching quickly between deduction, memory, and timeline logic is the real battle.

Timedle Game Rules (The Catch / The Trap)

Choose Your Battlefield

Timedle is a collection of separate games, so you MUST select a mode from the homepage before the puzzle begins. Each mode has its own objective, clues, feedback system, and attempt limit.

The Rules Are Mode-Locked

There is no universal Timedle grid. The format changes with the selected game:

• Yeardle: Historical clue → enter an exact year → receive higher-or-lower feedback. You have eight attempts to find the correct year.
• Chrono: Six event cards → drag from earliest to latest → submit the timeline. Correct positions turn green, incorrect positions turn red, and you have five attempts.
• Historle: Three historical images → determine the year connecting the pictured events.
• Whodle: Guess a famous person and compare attributes such as occupation, birthplace, and birth year.

For example:

Guess: 1971 → Too late ↓ → move backward in time

Guess: 1969 → Correct ✓

In a sorting puzzle, the feedback may instead look like:

Event A 🟩 Event B 🟥 Event C 🟩

Green cards are LOCKED into the correct positions. Red cards must be moved before the next submission. Yeardle and Chrono also offer practice-style play beyond their daily challenges.

How To Play Timedle?

Here is a simulated Timedle run using Yeardle:

1. Choose the game: Open Timedle and select Yeardle from the history-game menu.
2. Read the clue: The screen describes a historical event—for example, the first human landing on the Moon.
3. Make a prediction: Enter 1971. The game responds that the answer is lower, revealing that you need an earlier year.
4. Narrow the timeline: Enter 1969. The year matches, the puzzle is solved, and your remaining attempts are preserved in the result.

A Chrono round plays differently: drag six event cards into an earliest-to-latest timeline, submit the order, then use the green and red positions to rebuild the sequence before your attempts disappear.

Timedle Strategy & Tips

Start with the century or historical era before chasing an exact year. Wars, inventions, political movements, technology, clothing, photography, and architecture can all reveal the correct period.

For higher-or-lower year games, treat every guess as a boundary. Do not jump randomly: divide the remaining time range into smaller sections. In timeline modes, lock in events you know with confidence and move only the uncertain cards around them.
