Motion Path

Motion Path is a minimalist browser memory game that makes you recreate disappearing paths, dot arrangements, and rhythms. It is easy to understand, brutally easy to misremember, and ideal for a quick visual-recall challenge.

Motion Path

What is Motion Path?

Motion Path shows you a simple pattern and then takes it away. Your job is to hold that fleeting information in your head long enough to reproduce it accurately—with no permanent trail left behind to rescue you.

The game combines three compact memory challenges: tracing a vanished route, restoring missing dots, and repeating a rhythm. The presentation is calm and minimalist, but the moment the clue disappears, every turn, position, and pause suddenly feels dangerously important.

Motion Path Game Rules (The Catch / The Trap)

Each mode follows the same ruthless cycle: watch, remember, reproduce.

  • Path challenge: A moving dot traces a route across a field of points. Once the route disappears, redraw the same path from memory.
  • Dot challenge: Memorize the positions of the displayed dots. After they vanish, place or select them in their original locations.
  • Rhythm challenge: Observe the timing of a short beat pattern, then tap it back with matching pauses and spacing.

The trap is disappearance. The original pattern is not left on the screen while you answer, so you CANNOT simply copy it point by point. A correct response must preserve the important structure—such as the route, dot positions, or timing pattern—after the visual guide is gone.

Example path preview:

● → ● ↘ ● ← ●

Then the line vanishes:

● ● ● ●

Now your memory has to rebuild the journey.

How To Play Motion Path?

  1. Watch the preview: A dot moves through several points: top-left → center → bottom-right → bottom-middle.
  2. Wait for the disappearance: The moving dot and its connecting trail vanish, leaving only the empty point layout.
  3. Recreate the route: Drag or select the points in the order you remember, rebuilding each turn of the hidden path.
  4. Read the result: The game checks your reconstruction, revealing whether your remembered route matches the original challenge.
  5. Try another test: Continue with another pattern or switch to dot recall or rhythm mode for a different kind of memory battle.

Motion Path Strategy & Tips

Do not try to remember every movement as an isolated detail. Break paths into shapes such as zigzag, hook, or triangle, group dots into rows or clusters, and count rhythm gaps using a steady internal beat.

Keep your eyes on turning points rather than following the moving dot passively. Starts, sharp changes in direction, unusual dot positions, and long rhythm pauses are the landmarks most likely to save your run.
