What is Rackdle?
Rackdle is a board-based word puzzle about finding a strong scoring move. You receive a partly filled board and a rack of seven letter tiles. Your placement must connect to the existing letters, and every resulting horizontal and vertical word must be valid.
How to play Rackdle
- Inspect the existing words, available tiles and bonus squares before moving anything.
- Drag a tile onto the board, or tap a rack tile and then its destination cell.
- Build a connected play and check every cross-word it creates. The game's rules use the CSW dictionary.
- Adjust the placement with the available controls until the move is valid; the interface highlights a valid word in green.
- Press Submit, then compare the result with the optimal solution shown by the game.
Bonus squares and blank tiles
The board includes double- and triple-letter bonuses and double- and triple-word bonuses. A wildcard can represent a chosen letter but has no letter points of its own. That makes placement as important as simply spotting the longest word in your rack.
How to search the board
First identify openings where a new word can attach to the existing position. Then ask which of those openings reaches a useful bonus square. Work outward from those opportunities with the tiles you actually have, rather than forcing a remembered word into an unsuitable location.
For a hypothetical example, a shorter word that places a valuable tile on a letter bonus may beat a longer move built entirely on ordinary squares. Check any additional words formed across it before accepting the score as achievable. This describes a search principle, not a solution to today's board.
Rearranging the rack can reveal combinations that its initial order hides. Recall is useful when a promising move leaves an invalid cross-word; clear the attempt and reassess the anchor instead of repeatedly swapping one letter without a plan.
Getting value from the optimal solution
After submitting, compare the winning idea with your own route through the board. Look at its attachment point, bonus use and cross-words, not only its vocabulary. That analysis can improve your next attempt even when the exact word was unfamiliar.
