What is Wordle?

Wordle Game Rules

  1. Objective: Guess the five-letter word in 6 attempts
  2. Each Guess: Must be a valid five-letter English word
  3. Color Feedback:

    • 🟨 Yellow — Correct letter in the wrong position
    • ⬜ Gray — Letter not in the word

How To Play Wordle

Let's walk through an example (assuming the answer is PLANT):


Guess 1

Player Guesses: STARE

Feedback:

  • S ⬜ — Not in the word
  • T 🟨 — In the word, wrong position
  • A 🟨 — In the word, wrong position
  • R ⬜ — Not in the word
  • E ⬜ — Not in the word

Analysis: The word contains T and A, but not in these positions. Does not contain S, R, or E.


Guess 2

Player Guesses: TALON

Feedback:

  • T 🟨 — In the word, wrong position
  • A 🟨 — In the word, wrong position
  • L 🟩 — Correct!
  • O ⬜ — Not in the word
  • N 🟩 — Correct!

Analysis: L and N are in the correct positions (3rd and 5th). T and A are still in wrong positions.
